About Lorraine Venesky
Lorraine is the Chief Operating Officer of Cognicion LLC. Lorraine assists corporate clients and law firms to leverage best practices to manage and conduct eDiscovery in litigation matters, internal investigations, and governmental inquiries and she specializes in the design and implementation of discovery compliance processes and protocols. Prior to Cognicion, Lorraine was a Senior Manager at Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP and was a leader in the Document Review Services practice within Deloitte Discovery. There, Lorraine assisted corporate clients and law firms in managing large-scale document review project teams domestically and globally. Lorraine has provided consulting services on all phases of eDiscovery in litigation and investigations to public and private companies in various industries including energy and natural resources, financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, the pharmaceutical sector, and heavy manufacturing. Lorraine is a New Jersey certified attorney.
Lorraine was born and raised in New Jersey, where she received her law degree from Seton Hall School of Law. Lorraine is the youngest of five children, and grew up in a large Italian family. Sunday dinners were routinely pasta and sauce, or as her father called it, “gravy.” Lorraine makes delicious Italian gravy, and carries on the tradition of family and friends’ dinner on Sunday, along with her husband, John, and Maine Coon cat, Leonardo.
Like the symbol of her horoscope, the Crab, she gravitates towards the water – the running water of the James River in Richmond, Virginia, (Rivah!) for swimming and the frozen water of the Green Mountains in Killington, Vermont, for skiing. Like the crab that regenerates, Lorraine has converted from a successful career as a Human Resources executive to a dynamic, consultative eDiscovery professional most recently holding the position of Senior Manager in Deloitte’s national eDiscovery practice and was a leader in the Document Review Services practice.
Lorraine relocated to Richmond, Virginia, for the position at Cognicion and is enjoying the historic culture and evolving outlook of the city. She is honored to be leading the Cognicion team, which has a shared desire to build an eDiscovery practice with a strong foundation of repeatable, documented protocols and excellent client service – all in line with Spencer Cosper’s vision of running a business with fun and passion!
“It is not the beauty of a building you should look at; it’s the construction of the foundation that will stand the test of time.”
— David Allan Coe.
